What Is It?
Self Made Sparks is an inclusive, low-pressure pitch contest where kids aged 8–16 can submit a short business idea (either pre-recorded or live via Zoom) for the chance to win mentoring, prizes, and digital recognition.
Whether it’s a handmade product, a social good concept, or a tech solution, we celebrate courage, creativity, and confidence.
No pressure. Just you and your idea.
Who Can Enter?
- Kids aged 8–16 from anywhere in Western Australia
- First-timers and experienced kidpreneurs welcome
- You don’t need a website, logo or fancy plan, just an idea and passion!
How It Works
- Choose your pitch style:
1) Pre-record a 1–2 min video OR
2) Join us live on Zoom (limited spots) - 11th Oct 2025 - Register & upload your pitch by 10th Oct 2025
- Our panel of inspiring business founders and mentors will review each pitch
- Finalists will be invited to a virtual Showcase + Awards Celebration on 22nd Nov 2025

NDIS-Fundable Options
Are you an NDIS self-managed or plan-managed family?
If so you may be able to claim your child’s participation under Capacity Building or Core Supports, especially if their plan goals include:
- Building communication and confidence
- Social and community participation
- Life skills or employment preparation
We can provide NDIS-compliant invoices for:
- Pitch Prep Workshop (Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living or Social Participation)
- Supported Pitch Entry (Core – Social Participation, if structured coaching is included)
